Spawn was probably one of the first comic book characters that caught my heart. He was darker, grittier and way more savage than the other spandex clad vigil anti's - but between Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo, it was the art that really captured me most - it was just pure awesomeness!
In fact, the Spawn series was one of the major reasons I pursued comic art in the first place. It triggered the kind of inspiration that sparks off an un-tamable passion, that drives you to keep going until you can create the same standard of work with your own hands.
So while I was in the mood to do some fan-art today, I asked myself why I hadn't drawn Spawn sooner.
This piece took about an hour and a half to whip up, and I'd love to dedicate that much time each day to creating art just for the heck of it. I'm drawing 90% of the time, but that's course content (which is still freaking fantastic but it's...) - not just letting go and having fun!
